As you all know, here at Anime Limited we love to bring you the very best in anime, and today we’re very excited to tell you about another incredible addition to our catalogue, as we bring the superb anime adaptation of BANANA FISH to the UK, North America and France!
This MAPPA-produced series fully adapts the cult classic manga from Akimi Yoshida, which ran from 1985 to 1994, and quickly established itself as a fan favourite series with its heady mix of drama and gang violence woven into a tale that was equally adept at exploring the sexuality and relationships of its main characters.

About BANANA FISH
Ash is the boss of a street-kids gang in New York. One day, a man who was murdered before his eyes entrusts him with something.
And the last words uttered by that dying man was the phrase, “BANANA FISH”.
Ash has a destined encounter with Eiji, a kind Japanese boy, but as he gets closer to the mysteries behind “BANANA FISH”, both Eiji and Ash become entangled into a massive conspiracy–!?

No doubt your next question is going to be: how do we get to watch the series?
Well, you’ll be pleased to know that you won’t have to wait too long to get your first crack at solving the mystery of BANANA FISH, as the series is coming in full to Netflix from Wednesday, 12th August 2026 – you’ll be able to view the series in the UK and Ireland, the USA, Canada and France.
And that’s not all, alongside both English and French subtitles, we’re also thrilled to announce that the series has received an all-new dub into both English and French! We’ll be announcing the full cast for the series as a later date, but for now we can confirm that Ash Lynx will be voiced by Brandon McInnis in the English dub, and Sébastien Baulain in French, with Eiji Okumura voiced by Jonathan Tanigaki in English and Grégory Laisné in French.
Following this streaming release, we will of course also be bringing the series to home video in the US, UK and France – watch this space for more details, but we’re currently aiming to release the series on Blu-ray early in 2027.
