We know you all enjoy our monthly Newswire updates, but sometimes a new product gets finalised that we’re simply too excited about, and so we have to share the news. Right. This. Minute.
This is just one of those occasions, as we’ve now received the green light (the glow in the dark green light, if you will) for our DAN DA DAN Season 2 Collector’s Edition release, and as a lot of you are dying to complement our Season 1 release we wanted to give you a dedicated blog post to know what’s coming so that you can prepare yourselves, and make a little more space in your shrine to [insert favourite DAN DA DAN character here].
So, without further ado, let’s get to it!
DAN DA DAN Season 2 Collector’s Edition
If you own either our two Season 1 Collector’s Edition versions (or perhaps even both?), you’ll recall that we went all-out to celebrate the series and do something special with two themed editions to choose from – a “yokai” theme and an “alien” theme, allowing you to pick your side and show your love for DAN DA DAN in your own specific way.
It seems like you had as much fun with that concept as we did in making it, and so we’ve decided to continue down this path for Season 2, creating two Collector’s Edition variants with their own unique slipcases adorned with different artwork so that you can “pick your poison”.

DAN DA DAN Season 2 Collector’s Edition – AllTheAnime.com exclusive Alien Edition
Once again, our own AllTheAnime.com store is the exclusive home to aliens… at least when it comes to this home video release, I don’t wish to comment (or provide any DNA samples) beyond that.
Visitors to our store will be able to purchase our exclusive Alien Edition of DAN DA DAN Season 2 that won’t be available anywhere else!
Aira and Okarun are our cover stars for this edition of the slipcase, keeping the general style and vibe of our season 1 editions for consistency on your shelf with the same kind of striking visuals that you loved so much last time out.
Both the Alien and Yokai editions will also ship with an O-card, featuring the recognisable key visual from Season 2. This is what to look out for on shelves – we’ll be adding stickers to each version as per Season 1 so you can tell them apart:
Of course, we all know it’s what’s on the inside that counts, so let’s take a look at what you’ll find inside that rigid slipcase!
Alongside the themed slipcase, both Collector’s Editions contains an Amaray which plays host to the complete second season (episodes 13-24 of the show) across two Blu-ray discs. There’s plenty of extras on those discs too, consisting of: opening and ending credits, a “Meet the Filmmakers” feature, “Director Scene Breakdown” feature, a behind the scenes commentary by director Fuga Yamashiro, commemorative interviews, audio commentary on key episodes (13, 18, 20 and 24) and trailers.
Beyond the discs, also included is a 56-page booklet filled to the rafters, with contents consisting of a plethora of character artwork; an interview with director Abel Gongora; a “cross-talk” interview between director Fuga Yamashiro and voice actors Shion Wakayama and Natsuki Hanae (the voices of Momo and Okarun respectively); and finally a wealth of artwork from the second season’s production, including story boards, key animation, colour scripts and more. It’s a perfect accompaniment to the perfect series!
Rounding things out, we have a key visual artcard, utilising a spoooooooopy glow in the dark finish, and also a sheet of stickers to have some fun with and adorn anything and everything with your DAN DA DAN faves!

Otherwise, this edition contains all of the same wonderful physical and on-disc contents as the Alien edition for your enjoyment.
